Kirk was always my favourite. He didn't take any shit from the aliens, and he knew that part of his job was to do what was best for his crew, unlike another Captain... *cough cough, Janeway. Caretaker Part II*

I always liked the TOS and VOY characters alot. The Voyager show was very much fronted by it's characters, more so then any of the other series.

yeah I agree, much morw character based due to them being almost a family in later seasons and their story of being away from home.

TOS is at the opposite end of the spectrum. The Original Series didn't focus too much on it's characters, and fronted the show with it's stories. I liked that, because sometimes the conversations in the new shows between characters seems alot like filler to me.

Thats because the only truly 3d characters in TOS were Kirk, spock and Mcoy who got all the spotlight. Still it worked.

Ill go for Janeway cause she was top notch as Captain and as a person to. Sometimes duty come before personel gain.

Heh, I didn't like Janeway very much. I thought that having a female captain was a great idea, but they spoiled it by having an ill-cast actress for the role. If Janeway was played by someone other then Kate Mulgrew, perhaps I would have held the character in higher regards.

Hey she is a better actor than sisko's one (I forget his name) which took away from what was otherwise a great spin off.

Sisko (Avery Brooks) wasn't bad, but I wouldn't really be one to ask, as I haven't seen too much of Deep Space 9, besides Season 6.

McCoy isn't far behind Kirk in the best character race. I found his cynical outlook on things amusing, and his squabbles with Spock never fell short of entertaining.
