The Nea'ier Relm system is close to Valen space. Previously unchartered by the Federation, it's sun is 10 years from becoming a supernova. Due to this urgency, Starfleet has made it a high priority to retrieve samples of the species in the Nea'ier Relm system and save them from extinction.

Vorak was extremely interested in this mission and as such by the time the rest of the crew came for duty he had been up and working for three hours before Alpha shift began relieving the night watchman to head down to his quarters.

Kynes got into the shuttlecraft and got strapped in. "You're going to drive?" asked Kynes as Vanlen walked in.

Blight and Jade walked into the shuttle next. Every Captain needs a good security team. Then Bligh overheard the Captain ask Mr. McValen if he was going to drive. "I guess somebody assigned them self pilot ... " Bligh whispered to Jade.

"True ... " Bligh said to her. There was something about her that seemed very familiar. "Still, we are suppose to respect rank. You know what happens when people assume ..." He said. She seemed a bit hostile with the other members of the crew, but she had never been anything but respectful to Bligh.

Over hearing bligh i sigh, i read his logs, obsessed with command that one, with no regard for skills. I said to the captain "Sir, i belive Bligh has just said something about my skills as a pilot, may i reasure him im more then skilled enough to handle a shuttle?" i look at the captain...

Captain Kynes rolled his eyes. "Mr. Bligh, Lieutenant Vanlen is more then capable to fly a shuttlecraft. We'll be staying down there for a few days, so I don't want any... bickering amongst the away team," Kynes said in a distinctly Irish way.

"But Sir, I never suggested that he wasn`t." Said Bligh. "I mealy told Lt. Jade that people become annoyed when you assume things..." He said a little frustrated. He had never said McValen wasn`t a capable pilot.

"Ok here we go, hang on tight!" i say as i slowly brake us away from the ship, when we get far enough away i punch it. "Nearing upper Atmosphere, readings say its gonna be a hard entry, Lt. Bligh, shields if you will" I say. As pilot i can give orders till we are through the Atmosphere, enless another officer objects, but its Nessasary for me to command while we are headed down, i might hit some rough atmosphere and need shields within secends to focus on a certain part of the shuttle.
