The morning of his first duty had come quickly for Ensign Linus. Joseph, a few officer straight out of the academy, was looking forward to working under Lt. Jade, who he had heard was tough, hardworking, to a point nasty, but intelligent. He was looking forward to learning from the best. No one ever said being an Starfleet Officer would be east, but Joseph welcomed a challenge.
Joseph Linus stood outside of Lt. Jade’s office and pressed the button which indicated that Lt. Jade had a visitor. He stood, trying to remain calm. He was nervous, yes, but he would not let that stop him from making a good impression. He was going to be a fine security officer.

Jade was sat in her office composing her letter requesting her transfer at the end of the ships current mission. She still did not know what to write than woudl explain her reasons to the Captain and Commander. She sighed, placing the PADD on the desk and speaking.
"Come."

Steping into the office of his commanding officer, Ensign Linus was more than excited. "Ma'am, my orders were to report directly to you. I am Ensign Joseph Linus, the new Assistant Chief of Security." He paused for a moment and then asked, "What are my orders?"

"Well" she sighed "you can help me with these reports before heading over for the staff briefing in an hour. I take it you came on board with the new recruits, well kid you may have to step it up after this long term assignment."

"Yes Ma'ma." Joseph said, looking at the padd that his commanding officer was currently entering data into. "I think I`ll get a cup of coffe before I get started." He said, now walking over to the door. "Would you like some? Perhaps tea if you're not a fan of coffe?"
