What in your opinion is the best TV show, best film ,best captain, best ship(main feature) and best theme of Star Trek. Also say what is your worse of each category and explain why. OK so heres mine.
Best Series:
Without a doubt it has to be the original. When it was good it was very good, when it was bad it was lifted by the good characters. Every main character had there niche carved out and each had way of react to situations and each other. Also the stories were far more adventurous and upbeat than any show that would follow, far more character driven. Also more original due to it being the first, it laid the groundwork and its crew have not yet been beat at the best set of characters ever to grace a starship. I feel the more "real" star trek had gotten over the years, the more it had lost its charm.
Best Film:
I'm going with the ever popular Wrath of Khan, this is closely followed by Search for Spock and First Contact.
Just never been beaten for sheer thrill, drama, vision, characters, villain or dialog. Just a great Star Trek movie that set the ground work for every generation since.
Best Captain:
Sorry its another TOS entry. Jame T Kirk. The crew had so much respect for their Captain and the charisma just went around with plenty to spare.
Best Theme:
To me the theme that is iconic with Star Trek, the theme that you just love to hear every variation of, even if it compromises the flow of a movie (it was the best parts of TMP). Jerry Goldsmiths Motion Picture and Next Generation theme. Just brilliant and is the meaning of Star Trek in one piece.
Best Main Ship:
The Refitted Enterprise. The original is great but the refitted version is much more real, less clunky and far more beautiful and sleak. Just great.
Bad:
Worst Series:
I have said I liked it in places but for the fact it ended so bad, for the fact it failed as series. For the fact that is during the first few seasons was just undermining everything Star Trek was and is. Enterprise. I think that will be unanimous.
Worst Film:
Final Frontier. Everything from the effects, to the script and the god awful acting places. Villains with no meaning, I quest for a god he somehow created in the middle of the galaxy. Riiiiiiight
Worst Captain:
Sisko. Good series but his acting alway came of as forced and wooden. Never really fully formed. Just like him less than any other Captain.
Worst Theme:
Enterprise. The End credits theme was so much better and would have fit the title so much better. Sometimes, especially before they added the STAR TREK to the title I had to see if I was watching the right show at first. It just wasn't trek if a good song.
Worst Main Ship:
The Akiraprise. What a mismatch of eras and shape. part from the deflector and nacells it looks like and akira class. The surface should have been white and smooth. End of.
