other then star trek, what other shows do you like? and in what rough order? and i mean over all storyline, so rather then listing all the off shoots of a show just list the seires, like all of the star trek universe and so on. this includes books/games. its anything sci-fi.
well for me...
Babylon 5 universe: by leaps and bounds the best most realistic feeling sci-fi story i have ever watched/read about.
Star wars universe: the perfect combination of good Vs Evil with some funny stuff thrown in.
Stargate universe: great story line.
Seafort saga: by far the best books i have ever read, and a griping story that leaves you wanting more. (Even more so now that its creator is dead and was unable to bring an end to his work, may he rest in peace=/ )
Star trek universe: overall good story. and a story of a hopeful future for mankind. lets hope we turn out this good.
other sci-fis: to many good ones to list.
so whats your top 5 sci-fi universes?

1: Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley. Best book I've ever read. It has an extremely detailed portrayal of the future, and it's very believable. It also has a great storyline (juxtaposition between Primitive and Technological society.) Even better is the fact that the book is on the internet in it's entirity. It's sort of short, but god, is it ever good. Here's the link www.huxley.net/bnw/index.htmlThe ultimate story of paradise engineering! 2: I've recently began watching this Canadian TV show (filmed in 1999/2000) called Total Recall: 2070. It's based off of the Arnold Swarzenegger movie, but it's not really anything like it. It's about two detectives in the future. It's really great, if you can find out a channel that plays it, be sure to watch it.

on another note, everyone should check this link out. s142.photobucket.com/albums/r101/disconecter/?action=view¤t=StarTrek-Destruction.flveven though the ship that dies should totaly have handed the two star trek ships their asses it's still great. and a feat as it was made privatly and yet the graphics look better then B5 and atleast as good as star treks later shows IMO. Its a great fight, and i suppose if the big ship didint fire its massive main weapon and one shot the lead ship then it would lose... but anyway its a great vid piting two great shows against each other. Theres another realy good face off between B5 and Star trek and B5 won that one. though that was because the people voted for B5. i think it was like 1200 for the Defiant of star trek, and 1800 for the White star of B5. though it was done with words. well it cant be discribed, i will link it later.

even though the ship that dies should totaly have handed the two star trek ships their asses it's still great. A couple of words describing a bulls waste product come to mind at that statement. That other ship should never have done that much damage, to the soverign class in the first place, and the constitution refit should've done way more damage to it when it fired four photon torpedos, where was the other ship from anyway? The only way that would be even possible, is if it came out of no where, had a weapon that wasn't called a 'laser', fired it in that small instant the soverigns shields weren't up, and then only then would it have done a fraction of the initial damage we see there. Interesting use if skills, could've gone to a more realistic use however. WAINERS TOP FIVE SCIFI STAR TREK (ALL) STARGATE (ALL) DR. WHO SLIDERS RED DWARF Yeh, not exactly in order (accept the first two) the rest all all pretty fav shows IMO

LOL. dude, the ship they were fightings hull absors energy, meaning phasers..totaly useless. plus its hull is more then twice as thick as theirs, and 100 times as strong. and its wasint made to be big enough, it should have been twice the size or more, its a mile and a half long. and its main gun can blow up our moon, or end all life on a planit by do holy hell to the planit. So one shot could wipe out anything from star trek, or any other show for that matter. plus it only lost cause whoever made it likes star trek better then B5. because that ship had 80 fighters loaded with anti-capitol ship missles, and it carries a hell of a lot of missles and tons of other weapons that could allow it to take on 5 soverigns. because the ship was designed to take on entire fleets BY ITSELF.... so it should have won. either way it was a great vid.

Doctor Who was made by a Canadien from Toronto!!! But only UK could have made it that great of a show! BTW Star Wars is not a Sci-fi its a fantasy in space. 1-Lightsaber? barly plausible 2-Hiper Spead? just sounds realy fast 3-The 'Force'? honestly! thers not basis in sciense whatsoever! 4-A Blaster? Its a friking laser! thats focused light, woptido! try a faser, fotonic energie, now that hurts! 5-The socald shealds?- These nonexsitant this are barly any protection! 6-The 'Force'? This one deseves to be laught at twice! Like realy? what the hell is it? Its some sort of telachanisis bullpoop Thos wear just in the Wars univers. If we wear just to go witht he wild cards: Wars: The Force(Jedi/Sith) Trek:We have two things going for us one letter-Q in a single word-Borg Then thers the Cannon fodder ther is a mathimatical equation that is cald 'Star Wars hit probability equation' and its for the Stormtroopers. whereas n=the number of "bad guys," x=the number of "good guys," and J=the number of Jedi present, if any. The equation reads, "The probability of a bad guy hitting his target is equal to the inverse of all bad guys present plus the cube of the number of good guys present (plus one) plus the number of Jedi present (plus one) to the tenth power." From this, one can infer that the presence of a good guy has a detrimental effect on the bad guys' accuracy, while having even one Jedi present is a veritable death sentence. And for Trek we have the Red Shirts, who only seem to die withing 15minuts of the episode, after that they don't die. So, Stormtroopers(ST) vs Red Shirts(RS): The verdict! ST would shout a handfull of RS withing 15minuts, then they couldent evant injur one of the RS. The RS being securaty, would have Type II phasers, and as we all know have a stun/kill seting + ther is a wide beam on the thing, thus. 5 STs in one shot! why? cause the RS can actualy hit somthing!(if they dont die first) Thats about all I can say in this rant of mine!

Also, a very good movie called Metropolis. It came out in 1926, but it's still amazing. For the time, the special effects are fantastic, and the storyline is phenomenal. If you have the time, check it out.

Thanks for the double post there Con, good effort chief.
Another Sci-fi that I would like to bring attention to you all, Torchwood, it has already filmed its first season so I'm guessing it has been on in the UK already, but thats a great show, any Doco Who fans will love it.
Lexx? WTH is that anyway? looks like a bunch of bugs fighting each other, way over my head.
Andromeda? ok, hercules in the stars... riiiiiight
And of course, let us all not forget the wonders of...THE OUTER LIMITS For all those of you who are hardcore (as much as that is even possible...(ok its not, shut up)), oldish sci-fi fans (this is screaming you con) check it out, it has actors like Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner in it, about 5-10 years before the 'SECOND' Star Trek Pilot 'Where No Man Has Gone Before' (1965) and some of the stories are really good sci-fi in themselves.
