by rank and time served as said rank
the answere to an order by a senior of your rank is not "yes sir" but "yes Mr/Miss (name)" orders by someone higher on the list but of the same rank are "requests" but should enless unlawful or against the regs, be carried out as one. Example
I order Tom.Z to give me a phasor and help retake the bridge after a group of valens storm it. he answeres with "yes Mr. Mcvanlen".

no... i put it the way it is by seniority, as in how long you have held the postion... not posts or karma. so mine is the correct way and already confirmed by vorak.

true, if you didint know, crusher took over the ship once and there was a Lt. on the bridge, she was one of the senior Lts. rather up the line of command.

Only Senior Officers (the hightest ppl on the chain of comand) are in the staff meating....Have you not noticed that both Crusher & Troy(MEDICAL OFFICERS) are ther. THe Doctor is also included(after being considerd as a member of the crew)
