Lt. Command McVanlen?

Hey All,

After doing a bit of research on the site I noticed that John ( Rudger McVanlen ) has reached one thousand, fifty eight posts. The requirement is one thousand. After doing a bit more research I found that he has contributed five months of service, a month off from the requirement. I think that this last requirement is the only one that is not fully filled. He clearly posts in the mission board on a regular basis, posts at least four times a week, makes post to enhance our stories, ect. Now, I’ve also found amidst my research that other members have been shown a bit of leniency when it comes to promotion, so I ask you to allow John to be promoted. Opinions anyone?

He needs 6 months from the first of jan, so thats till the first of july, thats how I interpret that, and of course the Captain's approval too, other than that, sure he's a great Rper... when he's in the mood to be realistic, and yes, he knows what I'm talking about...

As I said above, other members have been shown certain levels of leniency... perhaps John should be shown the same?

As much as speculation on this issue is fine for anyone, this should really be brought to the attention of the Senate, and at least be put on hold untill the Captain either accepts or declines it.

Hmm, well our other Lt. Commander isMcAinmire, correct? Based on the current amount of players, we should only have 2, maximum 3 Lt. Commanders. And we cant have everyone reach Lt Commander. We need to keep a good chain of command... And that might mean that people end up demoted, if they do not live up to the heightening expectations the role of a Lt. Com warrants.

Our rules will always have to develop, to fit the circumstances...

And about McVanlen... he's been a great player, but Helm arent usually Lt Commanders... Should we overlook that, or would McVanlen have to transfer departments? Personally, I'm okay with whatever dept McVanlen wants..

I enjoy Helm, so i will stay in my department, cause all the other cool chief officer positions are taken. And besides my characters been a helm officer for a long time, changeing him now wouldint make much since now would it? lol

I disagree I think everyone should not have any limit on promotions. Everyone can get to at least commander. Otherwise there isnt much post insentive.

well why dos there need to be a reward? I would like to have Lt. cmdr but just because i like to be highly ranked lol. I don't need it, and needing a rank is just silly. in RL it would take our characrters year and years to get Lt. (JG) let alone Lt. cmdr. most modern admirals, and admirals in general have been 60+ and most captains 40+ with lts and ensign being 20-28. i mean in RL it takes a hell of a long time to get anywhere.

True but is everyone was an ensign for 3 seasons they would leave.

i wasin't saying they should all stay ensigns for as long as real people, but waiting a few months wouldin't hurt them.

I think the current system allows for only the best to get the best postions. Btw you will be promoted after this mission.

lol. sorry. ohhh conor, its not like im getting promoted to commander. My position bars me from getting any farther then Lt. cmdr, this in itself is crazy. but i wont make it to cmdr and you will eventualy. so would you please stop complaining about ranks? their like jackets, they are cool, but you dont need them to surrvive.
