Episode II: The Ambassador

[Beathan MacAinmire]

"I've been spending to much bloody time in the bloody holodeck again..." The Lt said bowing his head in shame

[Commander Vorak]

"Do I have your permission to continue with my duties Captain?" he asked.

[Lt Matina Jade]

She was still working when a young Midship man approached and handed her a pad.
"This is from the Captain" he said.
"Thanks...what is it?" she asked.
"Command orders for your promotion to Chief of security" he stated.
"Oh" she said taken of guard "ok."
She scanned it and it was indeed from the Captain. She then heard to sound of laughter and looked up to see her commanding officers and a youn Lt speaking. She wanted to join them but part of her as always stopped her from doing so. She returned to her reading, thinking how in the hell she was going to cope being in command of a department.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes smiled.
"Vorak, if that's the way you want to relax, then by all means, feel free to help the refitting of the Endeavour. You could supervise it's reconstruction, and help reshape the vessel."

[Commander Vorak]

"Indeed, I believe that it will be much more officiant that way" he said and headed off nodding to the new ensign as he arrived.

[Rudger McVanlen]

I salute the commander as i enter the mess hall. Seeing the captain i approach and say "Sir, Ensign Rudger Mcvanlen reporting. I am here as part of the new crew and thought i would report as soon as i could. Also to get to know the other officers a bit before i dig into my work" i add. Looking at Lt Macainmires length of servise pins and his face i say "And hello to you to sir, nice to meet another scot, im from Edenburgh you?" I ask as i order some food from the replicator.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

While Vanlen and McAinmire conversed, Kynes received a high-importance page from the Admiral's office. He would have to go there immediately, to see what was the matter.
"I'm sorry, Mr. McAinmire, but I must be going. Duty calls. Maybe we can eat together some other time..."

Kynes walked into Admiral Dawson's office, and observed Vice Admiral Ter'ek, a Tellarite nod to him in greeting.
"Good evening, Captain Kynes," said Admiral Dawson.
"Is something wrong?" Kynes asked, cutting to the point.
"The Klingon ambassador will be arriving at Starbase 29 tommorow morning," explained Vice-Admiral Ter'ek.
"Delegates from the Federation will be meeting with the head Ambassador of the Klingon Empire, a noble named Kaa'th. This is an essential time in the unstable peace between the Empire and the Federation. If it is successful, the two civilizations will come much closer to reaching a peaceful amicable end to the years of fighting."

Kynes listened.
"What does this have to do with me, and my crew?"

The vice admiral smiled.
"We know your crew is highly-skilled, and we could use all the help we can get. We would like to use your security teams to maintain the well-being of the peace talk. Currently, we are in short supply of competent security."

"I'll see what I can do," said Kynes.

[Lt Matina Jade]

Jade noticed the young Ensign but was not one to start conversation so she returned to her drink and pad.

[Commander Vorak]

Into the catine walked a stranger. A hood was brought up so that it covered his eyes and shadowed his face, and from it hung a long matirial cloak, black and with various illegibal markings on it. He walked over and sat in a far corner. When he sat he shielded his arm from general view and began tapping on a wrist banded panel.
"Begin the opperation" he said bringing it up to his mouth "I will alert the Klingons we are ready."
Vorak had watched this man intently from the moment he entered, he sensed somthing from his, but was no air bound telepath so he left it at his visual appearance and continued his walk toward the docking ring.

"Lad I be from Glasgow. I was thinking of having a wee bit of haggis, ye woudent mind joining me would ya?" Beathan said finding a table to sit at. "I'm Beathan, assitent med, you?"

[Rudger McVanlen]

"Rudger Mcvanlen, cheif of nav" i say looking around for a seat. "Never realy liked haggis, im about the only scot who dosint" i add with a laugh. I look over and see Lt jade eating and nod towards her "Lets sit with her" I say walking over "Hello, these seats taken" i ask.

[Lt Matina Jade]

She looked up in surprise.
"Uh..no" she replied ajusting herself an clearing her throat.

[Rudger McVanlen]

Smileing i sat down and said "Hi, the names Rudger Mcvanlen, cheif of navigation" i look at her service pins "And your Lt?" asking her name.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes was in Ops, thinking about the Admiral's request. He didn't think Security would be very happy about it though. Alexander opened his communicator.
"Lieutenant Jade, can you come to the Operations Center, deck one?"

[Daniel Clark]

Daniel walked back to the engine room on the endeavour, he checked the primary systyms and noticed a crack in the warp core!
'Computer status of emergency warp core warning systym' He said
'Off-line'
'Status of warp core'
'Comprimissed'
'Engineering to Captain Kynes'
