Silently, Kynes woke up. He had felt the entity inside him. For that short period, he had become telepathically connected to the being. That 'thing' had posessed emotions and feelings Kynes had not even thought possible. It had been such a... intimidating experience to be posessed by an alien being. His heart rate boomed within his chest, although he could feel the healing effects of the hypospray Doctor McAinmire had administered.
Sitting up on the biobed, Kynes spread his arms wide, and poked around waiting for his sight to fully return. The experience still brightly vivid in his mind, he spoke. "Dr. McAinmire? It's good to see you again."

"I don't have a very vivid recollection of what happened... Just that something took control of me, and that I was being smothered by this power. I could feel everything, sensing everything around me... But I was unable to react. My movements were predetermined. Is everyone okay?"

Kynes stared at the motionless form, crumpled on the biobed next to him. Jarn's slender Altanian form seemed thinner then ever, and his naturally soft, scaly skin had turned hard and wrinkly. Something was certainly ill with the Altanian Chief Diplomat.
Perhaps the answers to this mystery were hidden beneath the veil of the coming horizon... Only time would tell.
