Captain Kynes was sitting in his ready room when he opened his communicator, and tapped in the channel for the Department Heads.
"Captain Kynes to all Senior Officers," he said.
"If you're all not too busy, please report to the Observation Lounge for a Meeting."

Alexander nodded as he poured himself a steaming cup of coffee, he took a sip and placed the mug on the table. Sitting down at the end of the long table, he turned to Vorak, who sat beside him.
"So, what's the latest news in Science?"

"We wouldn't want to go 'seek out life and new civilizations' without good equipment. We'll need Science in the best of shape for our exploration."
Kynes paused.
