She is a hard cookie. During her childhood her fathers ship was attacked by a romulan fleet before being rescued by the Enterprise under Captain Chistoper Pike. But during this her father was killed and she saw battle and death first hand as the ship took heavy losses and damage. She has since then grown up with a chip on her shoulder always training and alwsy reayd for combat. On her first assignment she was against four Romulan centurians and won thow with scares to show. She has provern herself to be a capable officer for her assigment to this vessel as assitant security chief, but as far as a conversation goes shes far from social.
UPDATE: Her father's death has recently been revealed to be the fault of another race. Due to a virus they had gotten from the planet a the species lack of assistance in the matter. Jade has deep resentful toward them for this.
