This is the board for all news and discussion on the new Star Trek Movie. It's due to be coming out in 2008, and it is thought to be about the birth of the Federation (Before TOS, after ENT.)

Yeah, probably. They say Matt Damon might play as Kirk and Ben Affleck might play as Spock! That would suck. No Vulcan is better (or ever will be better) then the great Leonard Nimoy.

Spock was only HALF Vulcan. He was also part human, so it made him more emotional then the ordinary Vulcan.

I really hope not sir! I mean Kirk and Spock, Scotty McCoy, the just cant recast those people, not one of them the character would be disgraced in my personal opinion, any thoughts on that?

If they did that, It would take away the visage of those characters, and make them... James Bonds!

Ha, thats funny, you got a good point,m you cant just 'James Bond' the entire cast! I mean they should move forward another hundred years again, totaaly new uniforms, ships, everything, I think its about time, you know, every twenty years is about right.

I think it would be a pretty cool idea if they went in the 2600s, and had the Federation exploring the new galaxy, or something. Or a Time Ship.
