Hello All,
Although I am new to this site, I feel that it would be valuable to speak up and to share an idea I have had with you. As you know, Tom Bligh ( who’s actual name was Thomas ) has past away in a tragic car collision. I was thinking that it would be fitting to his memory to have one last episode, an episode to say goodbye.
Before I get into the main plot, I would like to talk about the actually possibility for creating this episode. As I had this idea, I was driving back with a bus load of loud high school kids, I wondered how would we could do this episode without Thomas.
I feel that one member of this fine crew could in fact play Bligh. Now, as his cousin I would really appreciate playing him, however I would gladly give up that honor for one of his old friends. I think I have a similar writing style, although I consider myself an advanced role player.
Now, let me explain the general plot. I see no need for secrecy as this is a memorial episode. Here is an outline ::
Captain Kynes, and Jade leave the USS Endeavor on diplomatic concerns. The Olens, a race that have just discovered anti-matter torpedoes, are mobilizing to attack their planetary neighbors :: The Orians. The reasons for their mobilization have been confined to the away teem.
As senior officer, Mr. Vorak was placed in temporary command. However, once the shuttlecraft has gone to warp, the Endeavor drifts into a mysterious nebula and strange things begin to happen. The ships systems begin to fail one by one, life support failing on decks at random. Strange environmental circumstances arrive, as engineering becomes too humid to work comfortably in. The communications systems also fail.
Next, officers are found injured. The crew is horrified because it seems there isn’t a safe place on the ship. Bligh is ordered to investigate the situation and soon begins to suspect that a incorporeal life form is trying to capture the ship from within. Finally, the torpedoes are manually fired, still inside the ship. The Endeavor takes serious damage and becomes dead in the water.
Soon after Mr. Bligh makes a startling discovery. He believes the creature is attracted to the plasma contained inside the warp core! The only chance at destroying the being is to eject the core, and set it to implode.
Bligh is ordered into the confines of his quarters , as he disobeyed orders and attempts to eject the core from the bridge. Life support is nearly offline, and if the crew cannot return to engineering they will all die. If the alien life form is killed, engineering should be accessible.
Bligh brakes out of his quarters and enters engineering, his skin burning from the amazing heat and humidity. He attempts to eject the core but discovers that if the anti-mater leaves the core, which it does on eject, the humidity will act life gasoline, the anit-mater a match.
Bligh makes the decision to eject the core, and the very moment he pushed eject Vorak and a team arrive to capture him. Instead of fleeing to protect himself, he places a force field sealing the dangerous material in. Bligh is burned to death amongst the amazing heat while the team is forced to watch. The alien life form is also destroyed. Main power is restored within the weak, but at a terrible price : Mr. Bligh

I second that you play tom, but I also put forward that the creatures aren't attracted to the plasma... as there is no plasma, but rather the anti-matter itself, and become stuck in the core due to exteme magnetic conditions.
I would also like to suggest that this be put in an earlier time frame, or perhaps have bligh be transfered back to the Endeavour after a recent promotion, and be given second officer as well as tactical, either way, we would need to make sure characters like litchfield and so on still fit into this nicely. I much agree with this idea.

Thank you Mr. MacAinmire. Connor, I too would like to accommodate everyone and come up with a solution so Mr. Lithfield would also be involved. Here is my proposed solution :
Perhaps, this could be the opening line for the episode placed by Captain Kynes. I feel it would explain what has happened and re-introduce Tom Bligh.
Captain’s Log : Stardate 9611.82
Shortly after the events at Khitomer, I received a subspace message from Admiral Salerno informing me of a disturbing situation. The Olens, a race that have just discovered anti-matter torpedoes, are mobilizing to attack their planetary neighbors, the Orians. These species are startlingly similar in genetic structure however the Orians are warlike and cannibalistic. An exploration team from the Olens had traveled to the Orain home world, and were ripped apart by the savage Orians.
Lt. Jade and I have been sent to the Olen home world to instigate a peace treaty. In Lt. Jade’s absence, Mr. Bligh will be rejoining our crew for this brief mission as temporary Chief of Security on Endeavor. Tom left our crew over a month ago after a family tragedy. After the completion of this mission he will be assigned to the USS Enterprise.

enteresting, I like it. Exept for one litle thing, anti-matter dosint burn. It explodes, and with a hell of a big one. Just saying.

Interesting. Here is a solution. If there is a low levels of oxygen, the anti-mater wouldn’t explode, rahter it would slowly burn using up the remaining oxygen slowly.

I like this idea... However, to make it better I think that the Olen/Orian dispute should play a part in it. This sounds like a great storyline, but it sounds like the Olen thing is just to get the Captain and Chief Security out of the way for a while...

Better yet, come back before Tom dies. I just needed a way to fit Bligh in.

But, I don’t want to role play with a promotion! Look, we're trying to make it exactly as it was when Tom was killed in his accident. Look, I know you mean well and I appreciate it but seriously. Also, I really don`t want to RP as Bligh anyway where else than in the mission board. Tom has died.

look 'pal' it would be better if you replied to PM, it is very rude to be online and clearly reading messages, but not sending replies.
