Episode XIV: Ploys Of The Mind

[Jason M. Frayers]

Jason had boarded the ship not to long ago. There was enought time for him to get to his quarters and unpack. He looked around checked out each room. It was customary cause he was intel and trust didnt come easy for him.

It was a quick shower then into a uniform. He had just finished clasping on his ranks when the alert klaxon started. He stepped out of his quarters and made his way to the bridge to find out what has been happening. Stepping off the lift he first scanned his surroundings then noticed that the CO or XO were not around. He walked over to the Comm officer and figured that she would have some idea what has happened.

"Ensign, I'm Lt. (JG) Jason M. Frayers, I just arrived a couple of hours ago. Im sure you got the message. Im the new Chief of Intel here. Whats going on? If I may ask" he said to the Ensign.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"Welcome to the Endeavour, Lieutenant," said Kynes walking over to the new Intel Officer.
"To brief you quickly, theres been a murder of one of our midshipmen... We also recently picked up two aliens survivors of a destroyed vessel, who wandered aimlessly into hostile territory. I'm sure your department can give you the details, but we're running out of time here..."
Turning away, Kynes spoke to vorak...
"If this is indeed a murder, then there is a murderer on the Endeavour. I want Security placed on all decks, and everyone to stay in plain sight. I don't want to lose two crewmen today... Also, please confine Lestat and Louis to the guest quarters, just as a precautionary measure. It's very suspicious that a man is murdered the same day we pick up two strangers..."

<Vorak>

Kynes nodded, and headed into his ready room. Unsheathing his communicator, he spoke.
"Ms Jade, may you visit my office at the nearest available time? Thank you..."

[Jason M. Frayers]

Welcome to the Endeavour, Lieutenant," said Kynes walking over to the new Intel Officer.
"To brief you quickly, theres been a murder of one of our midshipmen... We also recently picked up two aliens survivors of a destroyed vessel, who wandered aimlessly into hostile territory. I'm sure your department can give you the details, but we're running out of time here..."

Jason walked over to the Command Staff. He was just as courious as they all were. It was just too funny.

"Captain With your permission I would like to chat with our guests and maybe I may be able to pull something from them." he asked

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes nodded at the new Intel Officer.
"You may talk to them, but I advise caution. After all, discretion is the better part of valor..."

"Sir, urgent message incoming from Olen Prime sir," came the voice of the Comm officer on duty.
"On screen,"said Kynes.
Kranos appeared on screen, his expression rife with distress.
"Captain, the citizens are revolting!" he cried.
"What?" Kynes asked, suprised that the revolution had started so quickly.
"They have overrun the police forces in several sectors, and have taken essential applications in the Capital.. They've overwhelmed the outer citadel, Captain. We are requesting aid, Captain! Help us!"
The screen began to shimmer with static, then cut.
"Orders, captain?"
Kynes stood there, silently. By leaving, he was condeming the entire higher class of that world to death, but he would be breaking the prime directive if he did.
"I..."
Kynes was at a loss for words. He had developed close relations with many of the Olen in the nexus, but he acessed that the proleteriat of that world must have had good reason for starting the revolution...
"Take us out, McVanlen," said Kynes.
"Sir..."
"Take us out, it's time we left this place..."

[Rudger McVanlen]

"Aye aye sir" Rudger says at barely more then a whisper. The ship turns and gos to warp 5. Leaning Back Rudger says
"Sir. where do you want me to take us?" As Rudger waits he thinks about recent events.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"Out of Olen space," said Kynes.
"Make a note, we will resume contact with the Olen once the political unrest is over and they are suitable for reapplication into the Federation."

[Commander Vorak]

"Indeed, they must be prime suspects. Although we can not discount that there may be intruders or spys onboard" Vorak replies.

Kynes nodded, and headed into his ready room. Unsheathing his communicator, he spoke.
"Ms Jade, may you visit my office at the nearest available time? Thank you...

Vorak walks into the ready room and stands opposite Kynes desk.
"Captain, I know you are following the prime directive. But should we not of aided those people in some way?"

[Lt Matina Jade]

She walks into the ready room and stands at the other side. The Olen's were least on her mind. A crewman murdered was her priority.
"The Valens are in their quarters captain" she said.

[Jason M. Frayers]

Jason headed off the bridge and worked his way to the guest quarters. Before he chimed the door he pulled his padd and tried to get what he could about the guests. He scanned the padd then hit the chime.

[Louis de-Point du lac]

"Yes?" called out Lestat "ah you, why are we being held here? I wasn't even finished with my meal!"

[Jason M. Frayers]

Jason walked inside the guest quarters when the door opened.

"ah you, why are we being held here? I wasn't even finished with my meal!"

"There was incident. I can have something sent to you if you wish. Here is where you will be safe. My name is Lt. (JG) Jason Frayers. You can call me Jason." he said. "Im here to ask a bit about you. I see you were a ship in destress. What can you tell me about your ship/crew or what happened" jason asked

[Louis de-Point du lac]

"We were attacked and they blew up we didn't" snapped Lestat quiet short handed "Jason."
Louis sighed and remained silent as told.

[Rudger McVanlen]

Seeing that the captain and commander were both in the ready room Rudger takes the COs chair and waits for the captains return after inserting a course that would take them to a nearby Federation outpost sence the captain had just wanted to leave Olen space...

[Jason M. Frayers]

Jason listened to his response and really was not to fufilled with it.

"You Don't what? And what do you mean THEY blew up" he asked. "We just want to know what happened. So we can help you"

[Louis de-Point du lac]

"I don't know we worked below decks. We heard loud noises and the were todl to get to a podd. That is all I know Jason" he replies and coy as ever.
