Episode XIV: Ploys Of The Mind

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes entered sickbay, to see McAinmire and several of the other Medical staff watching the mind meld of Vorak and Snow.
"What's the news?" whispered Kynes to McAinmire, watching the two officers lapse into subconcious domination.

[Jason M. Frayers]

Jason went through the files of the people he needed to talk with. Just then he got a message.

The screen changed to another officer from starfleet intel.

=/]=You got something for me=/\=

=/\=Yup, that bug isnt intel at all. Acually its not even starfleet issued. The components are from Olen.=/\=

=/\=Hmm..So Im guessing that...wait it makes sence. We had an issue involving an Olen and things are not looking pretty.=/\=

=/\=The Olen government are dening everthing. It seems as though they are covering something up.=/\=

=/\=Thanks. I need to let my CO know. Jason out=/\=

He hit his comm system

=/\=Frayers to Captain Kynes. I have a bit of info for you. Can I see you sir in my office. in my quarters=/\=

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes raised a speculative eyebrow.
"Acknowledged," said Kynes.
"I'll be there shortly."
In a few minutes, Kynes had arrived at Frayer's quarters.
"What do you know?" Kynes asked when Frayer answered the door.

[Jason M. Frayers]

"First sir I want to apologize for having you come down here. My office is quite secure with respect to my field" he said

They walked into the office and sat down. Jason slid the information across the table for the Captain.

"It seems the bug that was planted in my quarters are Olen. I believe they were trying to make it into my office. According to my loggs there was a few attepts at unlocking my door that failed but choose my quarters. I recomend that your office and quarters along with the XO's be checked along with Jade's Office. And I also believe that when the Olen did his job they didnt need him anymore. Who ever is behind this is quite intelligent and some what versed in Security protocal. I believe our guests are behind this and they are keeping a good cover story but there are too many gaps in there story. Maybe we may have to resort to more serius interrigation methods. Im not liking that idea but we may not have a choice. Before we loose someone else." he said.

Things didnt look well and he knew the intel he gave the Captain was unsettling but true.

"It's about time that these Valen told us the truth."
Kynes was quite angry right now.
"Ms. Jade, dispatch a team of Security to 'escort' Lestat and Louis to the brig. There are some very interesting flaws in their story, and they're going nowhere until they've told us all we need to know. There have been several attacks, and they know something about it."

[Jason M. Frayers]

Jason heard the call and they both got up and exited the office and out into the hallway.

"Shall I join Lt. jade in this endever, Sir"

"Affirmative, Lieutenant," said Kynes.
"See what you can do."

[Jason M. Frayers]

Jason nodded and went back into his quarters. He grabbed a small pack. It was about the size and look of a med kit. He went into his office up to a cabinat and tapped in a security code. The door slid open revieling some hypo sprays and canasters. He hated to use stuff like these but it was part of his job and he knew these times happened now and again.

Jason packed his kit and closed the cabinate and secured his office before he headed out. Walking therough the ship he noticed the uneasyness from the crew. He couldnt blame them with all that has happened so far.

He entered the brig area before everyone else. He read up on some files he had as he waited for the guests and Lt. Jade to arrive.

Kynes returned to the bridge.
"Mr. Zepplin, what's the status of Olen Prime right now?"

[zepplin]

Zepplin pressed a few buttons, then spun in his chair to face Kynes.

"Captain, Olen has been completely over-run by the rebels. I have established a means of communication to their 'new' leader, but in actualy fact sir, this leader may be the first of many before the fighting settles down completely. Over 250 million Olen citizens have died, along with many of the structures in the capital city that you were staying in."

He pauses for effect.

"I can establish a dialogue if you like sir." He asked.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"Open a channel to the new leader of the Capital," instructed Kynes.

[zepplin]

The Channel opened and an Olen, with a scar across his face, sitting in a well lit chair, surrounded in shadows addressed the bridge.

"Federation Commander, I am Forless Tor, I wish to open peace negotitations between the new Olen Republic and your Federation." he exclaimed, in a somewhat sinister tone.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"Has your planet nearly reached Political stability?" Kynes asked the leader.

[zepplin]

"It's as politically stable, as I want it to be." he claims bluntly, before tilting his head slightly forward and to his left.

The ship shook from impact.

"Sir, inertial dampeners are offline, must've been some shot they hit us with." Zepplin remarked, still dealing with damage control.

"Phaser banks are down... Only one photon torpedo bay operational, Shields down, to 45%, we won't survive another direct hit from these basterds." he claims.

The Captain looks back to the viewscreen.

"As you can see Captain, I don't like being... out of control. So that's why right now, I order that you surrender your vessel immeadiately, or I will have to... 'take' control, of your quaint ship." he said, smiling slightly with a small chuckle.

[Lt Matina Jade]

She threw them into cell at gunpoint. Lestat moaning on as always about it. She then looked into her hand at the bugs she had found in hers, Voraks and the Captains office. She then make her way out and stops in mid motion in thought.
