A New Threat!

[Rudger McVanlen]

OOC: the new threat is the drengin. This takes place the day after the away mission. Also the USS's Fair Field and Dougles are both Miranda class ships, while the USS Hibrina is a refited Constellation class, witch i will play the captain of. It's my characters father.=)

IC:
The USS Endeavour flew alongside 3 other Federation ships. The USS Fair Field, the USS Douglas, and the flagship of the armada, the USS Hibrina. The Captains and first officers of all 4 ships are onboard the USS Hibrina in the ready room haveing a meeting for a plan of action against the Drengin empire, who are even more obsessed with war then klingons.

Captain John Mcvanlen looks about the room of sullen faces and says "Yes gentilmen, we are here to discuss a plan of acction to stop the Drengin. Since the USS Endeavours meeting with them, they have launched a full scale invasion of Vulcan, Valen, and Federation space, with what seams an endless army of forces. And we have no ideas as to where they are from, or how they got such a fleet, so any ideas on how to deal with them?" He looks about the room for answeres...

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"What are the estimates on their invasion's strength?" asked Kynes, refraining from stating his opinion just yet.

[Rudger McVanlen]

"Well, they attack in fleets that can be beaten back, we have repulsed 3 attacks of 20 ships. But they have a seamingly never ending stream of their ships, no matter how many we kill they still have more to attack again. The only good thing is they are alot weaker then us, one of us can take 5 or 6 of them if you play it right. And it appears that the Romulans have been fighting them for some time, and it appears they know where these Drengin come from. But they won't talk to anybody" John replies...

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"If that is the case," responded Kynes to Captain John McVanlen.
"Then I suggest we deploy Intelligence probes, to scout out their shipyards. We must be sure to arm the probes with an automatic self-destruct sequence, should it be retrieved and tampered with by the Drengin. We don't want them using our technology against us!"

OOC: I think this should become a multi part sub-plot. Part II should be an Away Mission to a shipyard. Would that be cool?

OOC: agreed, can i lead part 2? Since i made the race and all?

IC: "A good plan. I will send it in as soon as our mission here is complete, we may have been aboard my ship to plan further action but the reason we are here is to stop another drengin fleet. Its just us against 14 drengin patrol ships, 4 drengin frigets, and 2 drengin warships. Plus their bordeing craft and fighters, witch are on par with ours. Thats where the main threat comes in, they are better then us in hand to hand combat, and they seam to be able to "phase" through our shields and then borde us" Looking around John sighs and says "Well let's get to it then, thanks for the idea Cpt. Kynes i will get right on it. Dismised! Let's go save us a coloney!" Pulling Kynes aside after the other two captains and the first officers have left he says "So hows my son doing?"...

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes stood up and walked onto his bridge.
"Communications, inform the rest of the fleet to fly 1000 kilometers apart. Maintain open target. When the Drengin come into range, we will go ahead alone, and lure the fleet into a trap. I believe there is an asteroid belt near the Colonial world."
The communications officer nodded, and typed in the message to the rest of the Federation fleet.

OOC: You can direct the whole series of Drengin stories. After all, you created the race.

OOC: cool, thanks. I intend them to be a thron in our side through out the whole game, as a constant threat but never anything to big=) just to give us something to pull in when we run out of other ideas, and as a replacement for romulans and klingons.


IC as Lt. Rudger: "Orders sir?" Rudger asks...


IC as Cpt. John: "Fair Field, take the Dougles and go into the asteroid belt and wait to join in the Ambush, Endeavour, your with me, we are the bate. So launch your fighters and hold onto your seats!" Orders captain Mcvanlen...

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Captain's Log Stardate 03.03.2293
Along with the USS Hibrina, Fairfield, and Douglas, we are intercepting a Drengin Assault-Type Fleet on a course with the Nolos System, a colonial region of space. It is the Federation's gateway to controlling this entire sector of space, therefore the colonists must be defended, despite our heavily inferior numbers. Strategy will win this battle.

"Fly closely alongside the USS Hibrina, Lieutenant. Station the Endeavour within the asteroid belt circling Nolos II. That should keep their sensors looking for a bit."

[Rudger McVanlen]

"Aye aye Sir" Rudger replies. A few minutes later they are in the field and ready...



IC as John "All ships prepear to attack, they are almost here. All ships Launch fighters!" John orders, a moment later fighters dart out of the 4 ships and take up postions around them, while the ships ready to dart out of the field and attack...

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"Kynes to Flight Wing Endeavour. Campbell, are you ready?" he asked.

The Drengin Fleet was now within visual range, and they began to draw nearer into the asteroid field. They had detected the Endeavour and Hibrina, and a battle was inevitable.

[Rudger McVanlen]

IC as John: "All ships... ENGAGE" John orders, a moment later the fleet bursts out of their hideing places and moves to engage the Drengin, whos bordeing craft are already in postions and "phaseing" through the ships shields, then latching on and starting to breach the hulls. While the fighters mesh into combat and the capitol ships exchange fire...


IC as Rudger: "Sir, takeing evaseive action!" Rudger says, but a moment later the 6 craft are latched on, each pouring 12 armed enamies into the endeavour...

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"Kynes to Security... Jade, are your Security teams in the requested areas? Make Engineering your priority... Kynes out."
Keeping a Phaser by his side, Alexander sat uncomfortably in his chair, stopping himself from shivering.
"McVanlen, take us back to the fleet area. Have the Fairfield and the Douglas ready to pick off the boarding craft."

[Rudger McVanlen]

"Aye aye, but there are no lifeforms aboard them, they left, i guess they mean to take the ship or die trying" Rudger says as he shivers from the thought of succh blood thristy beings...


Meanwhile the battle started to turn south as their numbers started to have an effect...

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

"Fairfield, your shields have been damaged! Fall back behind out fortification. We'll defend you from there."
As the Fairfield dipped back behind the rank of UFP starships, it's right warp nacelle was blown. As it drifted through the dense asteroid field, it hit a larger rock and it's hull buckled. Kynes held his breath as he watched the Fairfield use it's remaining engine to help steer itself to safety.
"Sir, the Drengin fleet is surrounding our position..."
"Maintain fire, Crewman..."

[Daniel Clark]

Daniel was franticly trying to keep the weapons on-line, when suddenly 7 Drengin's Burst into Engineering and shot two of his staff, he grabbed his phaser and downed 2 of them , then dived behind cover
=^=Engineering to Security now would be a really good time to send renforcments to engineerig=^=Said Daniel as he shot 2 more, but to his dismay. 12 more Drengins ran in
