Episode XIV: Ploys Of The Mind

[Lt Matina Jade]

She nodded, gratefull for his help for ths first time and turned back to Louis.
"What is it? What did he know?" She demanded shaking him.

[Louis de-Point du lac]

"They gave them the weapons. The antimatter weapons were supplied by my people. They have been aiding the rebels in overthrowing the Olen's. Then full war would break out leaving this space for hostile take over. The survivors slaves. We must inform them, stop this."
He turned seeing Lestat disappear in a shimmer of light.
Outside the vessel 5 Valen battleships dropped out of warp, just beyond Olen space.

[Lt Matina Jade]

"They are here" she breathed " we must tell the Olen's call this off. Come on!" she said grabbing Jason as she left the three headed for the bridge.
As the doors swung open Jade, Louis and Jason came out.
"Captain, tell the Olen's to scan just beyond their space. Valen ships must be near bye. Lestat was transported away."
She watched the Captain look at Louis.
"He is with us sir, he was a great help. Captain the Valens staged this all, giving the weapons to the Olen people and their enemies alike. Playing them off so may take this space for themselves!"

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes hung his head.
"This is most disturbing news indeed. I'll speak to Starfleet Command about it. I'm recommending a full trade embargo against them for this treachery, and strengthed border forces. If things escalate like this any further, we may have a war on our hands, which could decimate the border systems. All we can do is wait and let them make the next move..."

'Engineering to Kynes,' came the voice of Clark from Kynes' communicator.
'We're ready to depart.'
"Acknowledged," replied Kynes.
"Power warp engines, let's get out of here."

The Endeavour's engines roared to life, and the vessel blasted out of the Olen guns reach.
"God bless the AK-9 Radiation grid," Kynes said quietly, with a chuckle.
"McVanlen, set a course for Federation space..."

Kynes turned to Louis.
"Louis, please come into my office..."

[Louis de-Point du lac]

Louis nodded and followed. he was much disturbed by his people and former commanding officer. He would wish to do more to interfere but he knew Starfleet were against such involvement.
"Yes Captain, I am willing to take what ever punishment your penalty system sees fit" he says.

[Rudger McVanlen]

"Aye aye sir" Rudger replies to Kynes Order.

Quickly typeing in commands and engageing on a new course Rudger finishes and turns.

"Sir, if the Valen has helped us i would sugjest being leniant"

Rudger turns back to his console at a nod from the captain and waits with his hands hovering over his console to correct course at a moments notice...

[zepplin]

The Captain and Louis leave the bridge.

"You know, it would be polite to refer to the 'Valen' by his name when he is present Commander." Zepplin pointed out to the helm officer.

"Besides, its not like were going to lock him up in the brig after he defected from his own people is it?"

[Rudger McVanlen]

Rudger grunts in response and starts ploting other courses just in case. When he notices something on his navigational sensors.

"We are being Tailed i think. Theres a navigational hazard behind us on my sensors, Commander Vorak Your sensors are better then my navigation sensors, you may want to check for ships. I think its a Valen ship, most likely comeing to stop us from reporting in"

Rudger gets ready to use his evasive manuvers if it is as he fears....

[zepplin]

OOC: You don't plot courses, you steer the ship, I would've sent you a PM but you were already offline.

IC: Zepplin quietly uses his scanners, and discovers it is most likely a glitch.

" 'E'x-cuse me Commander; may I take a look at that reading McVanlen?" Zepplin asks, rising from his seat and checking the console, by holding the top of the backrest on McVanlen, and looking over his shoulder.

"Hmm... same course and speed, it must be a glitch, I'll do a diagnostic on the sensor array." he notes, leaving the bridge to investigate the cause of the problem.

[Commander Vorak]

OOC: Ive modified this connor to com link you back to the bridge and its not your story, so I say the valens did follow us.

Vorak got from the conn and took his station scanning the sector.
-COM-I believe Mr Mcvalen may be right, Mr Zepplin ejected a 10th of our plasma from the warp nacelles. That should cloud their visual and tactical displays long enough for us to break away. I am sure we wish to avoid a diplomatic incident.-COM-
"As soon as he is done, Mr Mcvalen set course again but from a side to port route" he says sitting back in the command seat "engage."
Vorak watched as they went to work and did so. The Valen ship was evaded, not to be seen again.

[Louis de-Point du lac]

Louis looked on as the Captain explained he was not to be punished and would be able to do as he wished.
"Captain, with your permission I would like to stay onboard. I was a field medic back on my Valen vessel. I realise I would have alot of training to do and would need to start from the bottom of your rank system, but it is what i wish with your kind permission."

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes thought about it for a moment, then nodded.
"Yes, Louis. You've proved yourself to be a virtuous individual, and you have requested asylum from your people. I shall give you the rank of a provisional crewman. Is there any facet of work aboard this ship you can function in?"

[Rudger McVanlen]

IC:
"Aye aye sir" Rudger says.

A few moments later the ship is in a tight dive roll and disapears from enemy sensors as Rudger deffly flys them through a very small nebula and then jumps back to warp.

"I belive i lost them sir" Rudger says as he re corrects his course...

[Louis de-Point du lac]

"I believe my medical training will grant me for a medical officer, a Doctor as you would say" he replies.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes took Louis' proposal into consideration, and then nodded.
"Granted, Louis. Report in to Doctor McAinmire when you feel you're ready to begin. More permanent accomodations will be made for you."
