Episode XVIII: Fatal Contact

[Daniel Clark]

"Commander there is a slight flucuation in the Warp Drive" Daniel reporter

[Commander Vorak]

-COM- Understood -COM-
"Drop to impulse."

[Beathan MacAinmire]

Thank ya, Vorak. I be just wondring cause I failt like Something be familiar. He got up and walked it of, by comming to the bridge.

[Captain Alexander Kynes]

Kynes was awoken by the chime of his communicator. He heard Vorak's voice; a request to come to the bridge.
"I'm on my way," said Kynes.
Getting dressed, he left his quarters for the bridge...

A few minutes later, he entered the bridge, and Vorak gave him his chair.
"What's the report on this planet?" Kynes asked, looking on the viewscreen.

[Commander Vorak]

Vorak reported walking over to his console.
"Evidence of warp signatures, advanced city land marks and billions of humanoid life signs" he reported "Ideal first contact, two ships are also approaching. Channel is open."

[Daniel Clark]

Daniel checked his board to check the universal Tranlater was working and to his shock it was off-line
He turned to face Commander Vorak and said quietly
"Commadner the UT is off-line"

[Beathan MacAinmire]

"Jast out'a curiosity what be this 'UT'. I've never served on a bridge, I dana k'ow what it be." Beathan said standing by his medical corespondent on the bridge. He looked from Lt. Clark to Cmdr. Vorak to Capt. Kynes. He was enjoying this break from sickbay. And from the looks of it he would participate in a First Contact mission.

[Commander Vorak]

"The universal translator Doctor" he replied and turned to Clark "get it online as soon as possible, Mr Clark."
Over the com incoherrant voices rambled.

[Daniel Clark]

"Aye sir" Daniel replied "It's proberly just a mixed power line i can fix it from here"
Daniel checked his console and found out that every time he tried to re-route the power it went straight back the original way
"Sorry Commander, I'll have to do it manually" Daniel said before standing and heading for the Power junction in question

[Commander Vorak]

Random noises came through as Daniels worked. Finally words and then sentences began to make sense.
"..Open fire...answer now" came a few words and then finally "Last chance."

[Beathan MacAinmire]

"That dina sound good. Maybe I should na have come up here." The Doctor said regreating his disigion to going the Bridge crew. He enjoyed working and doing his job, but He liked it better when he didn't have to work. "Is ity to late ta answer?"

[Will Litchfield]

Will stood and watched this scene with a mild look of amusement at the Doctors stupidity of bridge operations, and worry at the words of transmisson coming throught the comm.

[Lisa Rogers]

What was I with the Crew of the Edeavour? No matter where they went they go into some kinda trouble. Lisa thoguht to herslef.

There primary worry was there firend out there.

"It works both ways now commander" Daniel reported

[Commander Vorak]

OOC: I will play Kynes during his apparent LOA, also please try and make your posts longer and spell checked.

IC:
Kynes stood and spoke.
"Do not fire! My apologizes our translator was having problems."
After a moment the screen flickered to life to reveal an alien commander. He hair was mid length, his skin orange and black spotted, teeth sharp and black goggles over his eyes.
"We are the Derrien, why have you come to us?"
"We wish to make contact. I am Alexander Kynes of the United Federation of Planets."
"Contact? And exchange?"
"Yes, I hope so. We are mapping this space for out people, I am glad we have found such a species so soon."
The alien turned and appeared to talk to others and press buttons before answering again.
"Follow us back to the home world, the first minister will see you."
"Thank you, helm follow that ship."

The Endeavour followed the tentacle, insect like ship of purple and blue to two others and finally the planets orbit filled with many more.
"Commander, Jade if you will come with me."
The Captain then got on the Com.

They made their way out as Vorak called back.
"You have the bridge Mr Mcvanlen."
